Karin Page
Karin Page 2016Karin Page is a singer songwriter hailing from Perth. In May 2014, the songstress took to the road with her partner and spent almost 18 months writing and playing shows all the way around Australia.

Page has just returned home from the Tamworth Country Music Festival in NSW where she was crowned the 2016 Toyota Star Maker. This competition is the oldest running and most prestigious country music competition in Australia. She has played numerous festivals, including Nannup Music Festival, Fairbridge Folk Festival and Boyup Brook Country Music Festival. In 2013 she was a finalist in the Telstra Road To Discovery Competition and that same year she also picked up the “Best New Talent” and “Best Group” award at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival.

Soon to embark upon recording her debut album, Karin Page is taking everything she learns from her constant touring schedule and putting it down on tape. Equal parts heartfelt and catchy, Karin Page is making music that is refreshingly honest and intelligent, whilst still being a whole lot of fun.

Kate Gilbertson
Kate Gilbertson 2016With her roots embedded in country and folk, Kate Gilbertson’s debut came in April 2012 when she was selected to support Passenger (Mike Rosenberg, UK) at Fly by Night, Fremantle. Her raw honest sound likened her to a mix of Laura Marling and Australia’s Mia Dyson as the singer songwriter quickly developed a wide Perth fan base.

After completing her studies at the Western Australian Academy of Music, Kate packed guitar on back and spent the most of 2014 playing bars across Europe and Toronto, before the oceans called her back to Northern Ireland, making the town of Belfast her new home. Recent features include: Runner up at Dawson’s Belfast Songwriter’s Competition (2014), feature slot at the BelNash 2015 (Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival), an appearance at Lisburn’s Sunflower Festival in August 2015, appearances with Music Showcase NI and Chordblossom gigs including support for local bands Foreign Affairs (Belfast) and The North Sea (Dublin) in October 2015 .

Her debut EP  Olive Street is available on Bandcamp and will soon be succeeded with her debut album in the coming year.

“ playing at The Ellington with Stu last year was one of my favourite shows ever it was so relaxed and captivating. I love music that , it creates an atmosphere in which I love to tell stories through song”…

Elk Bell
elk Bell 2016 v2Folk/pop chanteuse Elk Bell crawled out from behind the couch in 2011. Her debut album, Superfragilistic, garnered rave reviews and serious airplay across her homeland of Australia and far flung USA. Amongst its accolades, it was an RTRfm Feature Album and rated on the CMJ Top 200 Chart in the USA. This collection of musical gems took her to an array of stages including those at the Fairbridge and Nannup Music Festivals, the latter being repeated in 2016.

Elk Bell has been captivated by music for as long as she can remember. A singer/songwriter in the classic mould, she is the latest avatar of a long line of strong, passionate female voices. She draws on a legacy that includes Mazzy Star, Cat Power, PJ Harvey and Sharon Van Etten but combines those sources into a sound that is uniquely her own.
