August features the following local songsters and songstresses –

Leah Miche 3Leah Miche
Perth songwriter Leah Miche delivers a collection of haunting indie folk with soulful vocal melodies and captivating lyrics questioning our existence and human behaviors. Delivering delicate finger picking to gritty riffs and a voice to be reckoned with, Leah will draw you into her melodic harmonies and soundscape.

When Performing with her band The Regular Hunters, these songs step it up a notch with brooding drums, bass and keys with an indie rock sound.

Max Revolver (David Paddon) LRMax Revolver
Max Revolver is a new project from local Perth artist David Paddon. After more than 10 years as the front man for local rock act ‘Tourist’, Paddon has picked up the acoustic guitar and started demoing new songs in his garage for what has become Max Revolver.
Spurred on by run of solo shows over the last 12 months, and armed with a guitar, loop station and the refreshing introspection that accompanies fatherhood, Max Revolver delivers heartfelt songs with tinges of folk, soul and r’n’b that allow space for Paddon’s powerful vocals to shine through.

Song Lounge will be Max Revolver’s live debut!

Shameem 2015Shameem
Born in Australia to a Chinese-Malaysian father and an Iranian mother, this bubbly vocalist and songwriter enchants her audiences with her heartfelt, personal stories, socially conscious messages and spiritual influences in her songs. The diversity of her heritage has not only contributed to Shameem’s exotic looks but has influenced her distinctive eclectic approach to music. Her unique fusion of 90s R&B grooves with the melodic sensibility of 70s soul and a subtle twist of jazz has seen her frequently compared to such artists as Alicia Keys, Sade and Michael Jackson
Elk BellElk Bell
Elk Bell finally returns to The Ellington after her 2013 debut. Her little works of heart are performed on guitar and real life piano, whenever one can be found. From alternative folk rock roots to indie folk pop tunes her style runs the gamut and not the mill. This special show will debut the sign language interpreting talents of Nic Martino who also adds divine cello and backing vocals when her hands aren’t already busy!
